A story to ease the minds and hearts of adopted children

The adoption of a cherished grandchild inspired Terry Irvin to write HeartChild. Encouraged by the response of those who have been touched by Daniel’s story, Heartchild Publishing was conceived. Heartchild Publishing is dedicated to providing books for children that teach love, respect, and the connection of all living things.

"Stories are important life maps for young and old alike.  Terry Irvin’s HeartChild story will help adopted children to recognize the special place they have in the world and in the lives of their parents.” —Bruce Holland Rogers, winner of a Pushcart Prize, two Nebula Awards, the Bram Stoker Award, and two World Fantasy Awards. Author of Word Work.

“A Mystical, heart-felt book that will touch not only adopted children but all children of faith.” —Carmen Bernier Grand, a Pura Belpre Author Honor Award winner and recipient of the OLA and Lampman Awards and an American Library Association Notable Book award for her books for children and young adults.

"There is great wisdom in Terry Irvin's beautiful book HeartChild. Irvin's spiritual perspective provides a rare understanding of the dimensions of love within the adoption experience: the unselfish love of a birthmother who thinks of her baby's wellbeing before her own, and the welcoming love of adoptive parents whose dreams are fulfilled. This is a book that can be appreciated by people of many backgrounds, and a book families can read together for understanding, healing, and mutual appreciation.—Dr. David Rintell is a family psychologist in Boston, Massachusetts.
